I think one of the best things to come out of having a high street presence is local people quickly learn about you and the service you provide. Local people are able to access information quickly. They walk past, they read the information in the shop windows, they are able to pop in. Often the general public are not aware care companies exist let alone if there is help available. Having a local presence is a powerful tool.

Local means we provide care to local people. And those local people, our service users and their families are able to come in to see us. They can have a face to face conversation, they feel they are listened too.
The general public, our service users and their families come in to buy our incontinence products, to pay their care bills, come in for a cuppa and others for advice.

We have turned into an advisory service and more of a personal service for many local people who didn’t know there is help available.

There is an ear to listen to them, a comfy chair and tea on tap. This is what makes us a success, I truly believe people want to be able to walk in and talk to a local company, not a care company that is hidden away on an industrial estate. There is nothing personal about that.

SMAH are building many positive relationships with local people and that makes me personally feel satisfied we are on the right track.
